Here are some photos from our meeting of October 6, 2009.

Our guest speaker, San Bernardino County Museum curator Michele Nielsen, shared and discussed some of the beautifully embellished historical clothing from the museum's large collection. We learned some fascinating things about fashion and the construction of clothing in the last century and a half.

Michele displays a colorful silk dress from the 1850's.   This Civil War era jacket is part of an ensemble with a skirt and belt.

This felt cape, decorated with intricate gold couching, is probably late nineteenth century European.   Although this beaded dress has a Roaring Twenties look, it is actually from the early 1960's.

Ms. Liz, Queen of Halloween, prepares the refreshments table for everyone to enjoy.
